Oberfeldwebel Heinz Heuer's Uniforms

Oberfeldwebel and later Leutnant der Feldgendarmerie Heinz Heuer. Heuer was a German army sergeant turned war hero literally overnight. While in Berlin during the last days of the Third Reich, Heuer was ordered by Hans Krebs to take over a Soviet command post nearby. Heuer took command of 28 men and took over the command post, capturing important maps and documents. On the way back to the Fuhrerbunker, the group came across about 40 Soviet tanks. The two sides engaged. The German troops destroyed 27 enemy tanks. 13 were destroyed by Heuer alone, earning him 2 gold and 3 silver tank destruction badges. The group made it back to the bunker and Heuer received a Knight's Cross with Fegelein, Burgdorf, and Krebs present. He was also promoted but did not receive a new uniform or insignia due to the situation. The rest of the story is in the deviation.
